ACR ReTakaful MEA B.S.C.(c) (ACR ReTakaful MEA) was incorporated in July 2008. We are established in Bahrain to benefit from that jurisdiction’s established position as a centre of Shariah-compliant financial services. We serve the rapidly expanding needs of the Gulf Cooperation Council region and the wider Islamic markets in the Middle East.

We bring to the cedants in these markets the value-added services and capabilities required, as we are a highly-capitalised, well-managed capacity provider that can focus on the needs in these regions.

We have a paid-up capital of US$200 million and have been awarded an A- (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best, one of the world’s leading rating agencies. Together with the ability to tap into ACR’s specialist underwriting expertise in Singapore, we are in a position to offer unrivalled retakaful capacity to our markets.

ACR ReTakaful MEA is a fully-owned subsidiary of ACR ReTakaful Holdings Limited, jointly set up by Dubai Group, Khazanah Nasional Berhad and ACR Capital Holdings Pte. Ltd.

With a paid-up capital of US$300 million, ACR ReTakaful Holdings Limited (ACR ReTakaful Holdings) is the world’s largest retakaful entity, and aims to support and strengthen worldwide takaful capacity. Leveraging the expertise of our affiliated company, Asia Capital Reinsurance Group Pte. Ltd., we work towards leading the market in offering retakaful services to the Islamic community. In addition to offering Shariah-compliant reinsurance to our takaful partners, our business is based on the key operating economic principle of fairness and justice found within the Shariah. We also believe in and practise integrity and transparency – two other principles reflected in the Shariah ethos.

ACR ReTakaful Holdings is a joint venture between ACR Capital Holdings Pte. Ltd., the Dubai Group and Khazanah Nasional Berhad. We have two operating companies – ACR ReTakaful MEA in Bahrain and ACR ReTakaful Berhad in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
