ACR RETAKAFUL SEA
ACR ReTakaful SEA Bhd. was incorporated in April 2008 and is a fully Shari’ah-compliant retakaful operator headquartered in Malaysia to capture the vast business opportunities in all parts of Southeast Asia. We strongly believe that our entry into the retakaful sector will lead to greater takaful capacity and thus to strengthening of the takaful form of risk coverage.
We have a paid-up capital of RM 325 million (US$ 100 million) and have been awarded an A- (Excellent) rating from A.M. Best, one of the world’s leading rating agencies.
We will focus on non-cyclical, large and complex specialty risks in infrastructure and transportation industries such as aviation, marine, energy and engineering. We will lead the way in channelling these traditional risks from the conventional market into Shari’ah-compliant takaful channels.
ACR ReTakaful SEA is a fully-owned subsidiary of ACR ReTakaful Holdings Ltd., which is based in the Dubai International Financial Centre and jointly set up by Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Dubai Group and ACR Capital Holdings Pte Ltd.

With a paid-up capital of US$ 300 million, ACR ReTakaful Holdings Ltd is the world’s largest retakaful entity, and aim to support and strengthen worldwide takaful capacity. Leveraging on the conventional reinsurance expertise of our affiliated company, Asia Capital Reinsurance Group, we work towards leading the market in offering retakaful services to the Islamic community in Asia. In addition to offering Shari’ah-compliant reinsurance to our takaful partners, our business is based on the key operating economic principle of fairness and justice found within the Shari’ah. We also believe in and practice integrity and transparency – two other principles reflected in the Shari’ah ethos.
ACR ReTakaful Holdings is a joint venture between ACR Capital Holdings Pte Ltd, Khazanah Nasional Bhd. and the Dubai Group. We have two operating companies – ACR ReTakaful SEA Bhd. in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and ACR ReTakaful MEA B.S.C. (c) in Bahrain.
